It’s been over a month since our new website went live and I am finally catching up and writing my first official blog! So much has been happening that it has been a bit of a challenge to get this started.
Let me share a few newsworthy items:
- It’s official that PMI is moving forward on developing a Foundational Standard in Business Analysis to serve as a Body of Knowledge reference for the PMI-PBA credential. If you missed the announcement, you can view it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XWHUQ6nMiRI
- Once again, I will have the opportunity to work with PMI to chair and serve as a contributing author for their second standard in Business Analysis. In 2014, I had the honor of chairing and contributing to PMI’s Business Analysis for Practitioners: A Practice Guide, which to date has received over 65,000 downloads. Thanks to everyone who has embraced this guide and shared such positive feedback on its value.
- If you like the practice guide, then you’ll love the series of podcasts that PMI is rolling out to compliment this work. I recently teamed up with Dave Bieg, PMI’s Program Manager of Business Analysis and Requirements to discuss Needs Assessment. Check out the podcast which is the first in PMI’s ‘The Business of BA’ series: http://pm.pmi.org/business-analysis-tools
- So what does this Foundational Standard in Business Analysis have to offer? Stay tuned!
